Safety io revolutionizes cloud based/IoT solutions for the live monitoring of workforces in hazardous areas; fleet management for market and industry leading MSA safety products; on-scene monitoring for the global fire service; and many other compelling products and services. Our suite of applications are used and loved by thousands and our code saves lives!

We are an international company parented by MSA with offices in Berlin, Germany; Johannesburg, South Africa; and Cranberry, USA. Our Berlin team spreads over 20 nationalities!

What we offer

• You'll learn software development techniques, programming languages and their applications during your practical Work at Safety io
• You'll learn agile software development methodologies and how they can lead to a great user experience
• You'll learn get to know cloud, web and mobile development tools and frameworks
• You'll learn about  IoT (Internet of Things)
• You'll have the opportunity to work closely with our colleagues at MSA and get to know about our hardware products in the gas detection and fire service space 

What you need

• Good university entrance qualification, ideally you already have a technical education
• Nice to have: first experience in writing code
• Very confident with PCs and software
• Interest in technology and science topics
• You are proficient in German and English
• Flexibility, ability to work independently and good communication skills

What the program offers

• Partnership with the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR)
• Six semester dual studies program for computer science
• Alternation between three month phases of lectures at the HWR and practical work at Safety io
• Intensive degree program (210 CP), in which you complete coursework both at the HWR and in the practical phases
• Good chances of being taken on after successfully completing your studies
